Learn Class 12 Math - Probability

The probability words refer to the measurement of the certainty of degree present with the specific event. An experiment is a term that includes the operation with the help of which the set outcomes get produced.

There is a concerned formula that includes the favourable and real events to get the probability of a certain thing. We have to use this formula to get the probability. The event of one number is known as the trail.

Probability of an event

  • The event probability refers to the number of outcomes. It is a favourable item to the total number of possible outcomes. We have to divide the favourable number of items by the total events.
  • The probability range always lies between 0and 1. The probability is always smaller than 1.
  • P (E) = the number of favourable events divided by the total number of possible events.

Properties

1. Multiplication Rule

  • Let E and F be two occasions related with an example space S.
  • The set E ∩ F means the occasion that both E & F have happened.
  • All in all, E ∩ F signifies the synchronous event of the occasions E & F.

2. Independent Events

  • Two trials are supposed to be autonomous for each set of occasions, E and F, where E is related to the primary investigation and F to the subsequent examination.
  • P (E ∩ F) = P (E).P(F)
