Learn Class 2 Math - Computation Operations

Computation Operation is mathematics that includes an understanding of numbers and symbols, which is a significant part of mathematics, especially for class 2 students. It generally consists of Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division.

We perform these basic forms of Computation Operation in our daily lives.

Let us move further to know these basic Computation Operations:

Basic computation operations

Addition (‘+’)

The Addition is one of the major processes in Mathematics, which is used to add the group numbers together.

It is denoted by the '+’sign, which combines two or more numbers in a single form. The Addition is one of the basic forms of Mathematics that is essential for every Class 2 student.

E.g. 4.13+3.97 = 8.1

Subtraction ('-')

Subtraction is another form of Computation Operations that is used to determine the difference between the two numbers. A minus sign denotes it. It is very similar to the Addition, but the difference is that Addition is used to add the numbers, whereas Subtraction is used to separate the numbers.

E.g. 17-4 = 13

Multiplication (‘×’)

Multiplication is also an important element of basic Mathematics. It is indicated by the '×' or '*' sign. It is also used to merge two or more values to form a unique numerical value.

E.g. 6× 3 = 18

Division ('÷')

The '÷ 'sign denotes the division. This term is the inverse of multiplication, and it consists of two terms, Dividend and Divisor, out of which Dividend is divided by the Divisor to provide you with the single value.

However, when the Dividend is more than the Divisor, the result will be more than one, or otherwise, it will be lesser than one.

E.g. 6 ÷ 3 = 2
