Learn Class 2 Math - Length, Weight and Capacity

The length, Weight, and capacity all are distinct terms, but all three terms are used to define either Weight, Length, or the Object's capacity.

For example, with the help of a length, you can determine the actual size of the glass of water; with the help of Weight, you can determine the actual heaviness or lightness of the glass of water, and at the end, with the help of capacity, you can determine how much capacity a glass of water is holding.

All these terms are equally important for every class two student. Therefore, let us discuss each term in detail.

What is Length?

Length is defined as the mathematical term used to determine the particular Object's size or the distance from one point to another.

Suppose you want to determine the length of your scale, then you can easily determine it if you properly understand the term of length. This is why every student should understand the length.

What is Weight?

Weight is another very important mathematical term used to determine how heavy or light the Object is. For example, you have polythene full of potatoes, and you wish to determine the accurate weight of the potato.

This is the time where the term weight is helpful. That is why every class 2 students should understand the basic concept of Weight.

Unit of Weight

  • Kilogram (kg): 1,000 grams
  • Metric ton (t): 1,000 kilograms
  • Gram (g): 1,000 milligrams
  • Decagram (dag): 10 grams

What is Capacity?

Capacity is defined as the maximum amount of something that an object can contain. Commonly known as volume, which includes milliliters or liters in a unit.

For example, you have a glass of water that has a capacity of containing 500 mL, but it contains 250 ml.
