Learn Class 2 Science - Air, Water and Rocks

Air and Water are both natural resources that we get from the Environment. In contrast, Rocks are viewed as the building blocks of an active planet. In other words, a Rock is a complex matter that makes a mountain.

Here, we'll discuss Air, Water, and Rocks for the Class 2 students.

Air

Air is around us, and we need air to live. Though we cannot see the air, we can feel it.

  • If the air is moving, we call it a Wind.
  • If the air is gently moving, we call it a Breeze.
  • If the air is moving powerfully, we call it a Storm.

Air can be used in several ways like to dry the clothes, fill up balloons, fly a kite, fill the tubes inside the tires, etc.

Water

Water is another vital resource for Human beings, Animals, and other creatures. We need water to live and grow. The primary source of Water is Rain. It fills the ponds, rivers, oceans, seas, etc. The water that seeps into the ground is called Underground water.

The underground water is easy to consume from the tube wells and hand pumps. However, it doesn't have any fixed shape. Also, 71% of the earth's surface is covered with water.

Rocks

A Rock is a solid substance that doesn't have any chemical composition. Instead, it is made up of two or more minerals. Granite, Marble, Ignite, Limestone, etc., are some examples of Rocks.
