Learn Class 9 Science - Tissues

The term tissue refers to a group made of cells that have similar structures. Further, these functions will work together in the form of units.

There is a material that helps in the filling of the structures is called an intercellular matrix.

Different types of tissue are present such as animal tissue or plant tissue. And these tissues are further classified into various parts.

Types of tissue

1. Plant tissue

  • Plant tissue is tissue made of a group of cells that are similar or dissimilar in functions.
  • Those plants that are high in level show this type of function.
  • Plant tissue is also categorised into different parts, such as meristematic and permanent tissue.
  • The parts of meristematic tissue are apical, lateral, or intercalary meristem.
  • The parts of permanent tissue are simple, complex, and special permanent tissue.

2. Animal tissue

  • The animal tissue is classified into four parts,i.e., connective, muscle, nervous, and epithelial tissue.
  • The connective tissue is one of the tissue parts made of cells consisting of non-living parts.
  • The muscle tissue helps form the force or motion within the internal parts of the organ.
  • The nervous tissue helps communicate between the brain and other parts of the body.
