Learn Class 9 Science - Work and Energy

Work and energy both are different terms. The work is defined with the meaning of a force that applies to the object which causes the displacement.

The work is always expressed as the multiplication of displacement & force, i.e., W = F x s.

The W in the given formula refers to the work done, F refers to the presence of force, and s is the object displacement.

Unit of work

  • Newton's main unit of work is always present, i.e., N or J (Joule).
  • The term J is the defined set of the work. In which the work gets done with the help of force.

Conditions of work done:

When we have to look at the work done process, we must look at certain conditions. These two conditions are discussed here.

  • Condition 1: The force would always be acted on the object.
  • Condition 2: The object must get displaced.

Energy

The body capacity that does the work is known as the energy. The Joule unit always represents the unit of energy. Like 1 KJ = 1000 J. Kinetic energy, heat energy, light energy, and electrical energy are some forms of energy. All these energies are different from each other with the concepts.
