Verbs are words that express actions, events, or states. Thus, verbs are needed to form the entire sentence or question.
In a sentence, the verb serves as the main predicate component, which is the part of the sentence that expresses what the subject (person or thing) is or does.
| Verbs Tenses | The tense of the verb indicates the time when the action occurs in the sentence. |
| Irregular verbs | These verbs do not follow the rules of tense change. |
| Action verbs | They describe what people, animals, things, or natural forces can do. |
| Connective verbs | They do not describe actions but indicate the state or condition of the subject. |
| Auxiliary verbs | They are a group of two or three consonants, which retain their sound when pronounced. |
Not all verbs have the same function. Instead, they are divided into three categories: action, contact, and help.
