Learn Class 9 Math - Lines and Angles

The lines and angles are two different terms. The term line refers to a straight part of a line. At the same time, an angle refers to the sequence between two lines.

Line segment

The line segment refers to a line that consists of two endpoints, i.e., one at starting and one at the end.

Ray

The term ray refers to a line that only consists of one endpoint.

Angle

When two rays intersect at the originating point, it is known as the angle.

Angle types

The angles are classified into several parts. All the parts of the angle are different from each other. Every type of angle is discussed here below:

  1. Acute angle:

The type of angle smaller than 90° is known as an acute angle.

  2. Right angle:

The right angle is the angle that forms an angle of 90°.

  3. Straight angle:

The straight angle is an angle that is always equal to 180°.

  4. Obtuse angle:

The obtuse angle is always greater than 90°, but it is always less than 180°.

  5. Reflex angle:

The reflex angle is an angle that is always greater than 180° but less than 90°.
