The term polynomial consists of one variable polynomial and two-variable polynomials. There are also coefficients of polynomials that will help solve the questions of the polynomials. Well, the polynomial is also divided into various parts.

Types of a Polynomial

The polynomials are of different types. All the types of the polynomial are discussed here below:

  • Constant polynomial or zero polynomial.
  • Linear polynomial
  • Quadratic polynomial
  • Cubic polynomial

Zero of Polynomials

The zero of polynomials are the polynomials in which the whole set of the equation will become equal to zero. When we put the p(x) in the given equation, it must be equal to zero. Then only it is known as zero of the polynomial.

Like: p(x) = 2x2 + 4x - 2 , whereas p(x) = 2.

Now,

2(2)(2) + 4(2) - 2 = 14.

Hence, it is not the zero of a polynomial.

Factorization with the help of identities

With the help of the given identities, some questions will get directly solved.

  • (a + b)^2 = a^2 + 2ab + b^2
  • (a - b)^2 = a^2 - 2ab + b^2
  • (a + b) (a - b) = a^2 - b^2
  • (a - b) ^3 = a^3 - 3a^2b + 3ab^2 - b^3
  • (a +b)^3 = a^3 + 3a^2b + 3ab^2 + b^3
