Learn Class 9 Math - Statistics

The term statistics includes the various sets of things like the primary data, secondary data, raw data, range, and many other items. Some of these terms consist of frequency. With the help of frequency, we can see how many times the data appears.

  1. Primary data

The primary data is known as the data collected with the help of investigators. He is the only person who collects the data for his purpose. And all the collected data is collected by him for the first time.

  2. Secondary data

The secondary data is the data that is collected from a particular source. It means that the data is already present somewhere and has been collected again for some purpose.

  3. Raw data

The raw data is the data that is present, not in a particular sequence. Or it is a set of data that involves irregular data. Example: 2, 5, 7, 10, 6, 4, and so on.

  4. Range

The term range refers to the difference between the two values,i.e., highest and lowest. We can also write range = Higher value - lower value.

Three different terms

  1. Mean:

It is the average of all given terms.

  2. Median:

It is the term that divides the whole term into two equal parts.

  3. Mode:

It is the highest number of times a number occurs in a series.
