Learn Class 7 Math - Visualising Solid Shapes

Visualising solid shapes consist of 2D and 3D shapes. These shapes are the different sets that include faces, edges, and vertices. Some examples of solid shapes are cube, cylinder, cuboid, cone, sphere, etc.

Different parts of solid shapes

The solid shapes consist of different parts such as edges, faces, and vertices. These all are different for all the figures.

  • Cube

The cube consists of 6 faces, 12 edges, and 8 vertices.

  • Cuboid

The cuboid consists of 6 faces, 12 edges, and 8 vertices.

  • Cylinder

The cylinder consists of 3 faces, 2edges, and 0 vertex

  • Cone

The cone consists of 2 faces, 2 edges, and 1 vertex.

  • Sphere

The triangular prism consists of 1 face, 0 edges, and 0 vertices.

  • Triangular prism

The triangular prism consists of 5 faces, 9 edges, and 6 vertices.

  • Pyramid

The pyramid consists of 5 faces, 8 edges, and 6 vertices.

  • Triangular pyramid

The triangular pyramid consists of 4 faces, 6 edges, and 4 vertices.

Different ways to view an object

  • With the cutting and slicing of an object, you can see the object.
  • As the slicing of an object includes a cross-section of the solid.
  • From different angles, the object will give a different view.
  • The views will be the side view, front view and top view.
