The term 'tenses' refers to the form that helps determine a verb with a particular time. It is used to get to know about the time.

Tenses Examples:

  1. Present: Ram eats the food.
  2. Past: Ram ate the food yesterday.
  3. Future: Ram will eat the food by 8 p.m.

Types of Tenses

1. Present Tense:

Simple Present:

One can form a simple present tense by adding 's' or 'es' in the word.

For e.g.: Radha writes a book, Sun comes out in the day.

Present Perfect:

Determines the things that have already happened.

For e.g.: He has seen the movie.

She has been to Canada.

Present Perfect Continuous:

Determine if the things which are in continuity.

For e.g.: He has been waiting for the bus for one hour.

2. Past Tense:

Simple Past:

Do the presentation of things that have happened in the past.

For e.g.: He did not.

Past Continuous:

Do the presentation of things that were in continuity in the past.

For e.g.: Ram was playing cricket.

Past Perfect:

Do the presentation of two things that happened in the past.

For e.g.: They were too late.

Past Perfect Continuous:

For e.g.: Heena was very tired. And she had been dancing.

3. Future Tense:

Simple Future:

For e.g.: Rima will ask the questions tomorrow.

Future Continuous:

For e.g.: He will be writing a letter.

Future Perfect:

For e.g.: He will not have written a letter.

Future Perfect Continuous:

For e.g.: Reena will be staying at his aunt's house.
